Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the app "Chinese Idiom Master (中文成语大师)" ("the App") provided by the developer. By using the App, you are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.
1. Application
These Terms apply to all relationships between you and the developer regarding the use of the App.
2. License to use
Subject to these Terms, the developer grants you a non-transferable, non-exclusive right to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.
3. Disclaimer regarding learning content
The idioms provided by the App (in these Terms, "idioms" broadly includes four-character idioms (chengyu) as well as proverbs, maxims, and other common expressions), together with their category classifications, English/Japanese translations, literal and figurative meanings, pinyin, example sentences, and other learning materials (the "Learning Content") are provided as a reference for language learning.
- The Learning Content is not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, up to date, or fit for a particular purpose. There can be multiple views on the meaning, usage, and classification of an idiom, and interpretations may vary by context.
- Category classifications are one example provided for learning convenience and do not represent a single academic or dictionary-defined classification.
- Please do not rely on the Learning Content as an authoritative source for exams, research, translation, or business. For accuracy, please also consult dictionaries and specialized references.
- The developer is not liable for any results arising from the use of the Learning Content.
If you find an error or have a suggestion, please let the developer know via Support.
4. Intellectual property
Copyright and other intellectual property rights in the App and the Learning Content (design, text, software, etc.) belong to the developer or the rightful owners. You may not reproduce, republish, distribute, or modify them beyond the scope of private use without permission.
5. Prohibited actions
When using the App, you must not:
- Violate laws or public order and morals;
- Interfere with the operation of the App, or reverse-engineer, tamper with, or gain unauthorized access to it;
- Use the Learning Content for commercial purposes without permission of the rights holder;
- Fraudulently click ads or misuse the App via automated tools;
- Engage in any other act the developer deems inappropriate.
6. Advertising
The App is provided free of charge and displays ads from third parties (such as Google AdMob). The developer is not responsible for the content of ads or for any dealings with advertisers. For how information is handled, please see the Privacy Policy.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
- The App is provided "as is". The developer does not warrant that the App is free from errors or interruptions, that it is fit for your particular purpose, that it works on every device and OS, or that it will continue to be offered. The same applies to issues arising from third-party services such as ad delivery and analytics.
- Your learning records are stored only on your device, so they are lost if you delete the App. They are not carried over when you switch devices unless they are restored from a device backup. They may also be lost due to bugs or device failure, and the developer cannot recover them.
8. Changes, suspension, and termination of the service
The developer may change, suspend, or terminate the App without prior notice to users, and is not liable for any damages arising to users as a result.
9. Changes to these Terms
The developer may change these Terms without prior notice when deemed necessary. The revised Terms take effect once posted on this page, and by using the App after the change, you are deemed to have agreed to it.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan.
